This salad is a rounded meal with the fiber, protein, and vegetables.  A high fiber diet is recommended for those with diverticulosis.


  • 1/2 Pound
    whole wheat pasta
  • 1 Cup
    cooked chicken breast, cubed
  • 10 Ounces
    frozed broccoli, thawed and drained
  • 1/2 Cup
    peas, thawed from frozen
  • 1/2 Cup
    Ranch dressing
  • 1 Teaspoon
    Italian seasoning
  • 1 Tablespoon
    Parmesan cheese, grated


  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain.
    Combine cooked pasta with chicken, broccoli and peas. Set aside. In a separate bowl, blend together dressing, herbs and cheese. Pour dressing mixture into pasta and vegetable mixture. Toss well to coat, and serve.
