This recipe has a lot fiber but also has a rich texture and delicious flavor. It will become a holiday favorite.
Place potatoes in a pot and cover with water. Add salt to water and boil potatoes until almost tender, about 6 to 8 minutes. Add broccoli and cook until tender, an additional 5-7 minutes.
Drain potatoes and broccoli. Melt butter in the hot pot, then add the garlic and cook 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in cream; add potatoes, broccoli and cheese and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Mash until desired consistency.
