Frequently Asked Questions

Diverticulitis is a condition marked by the inflammation of pouches formed in the colon. These inflammations often bring severe abdominal pain and may spread to other areas of the colon.  The Calming Blends tea contains ingredients which may help relieve the symptoms or prevent inflammation from occurring*. Many people suffering from Diverticulitis have made this tea part of their daily regimen, others drink the tea when they start having symptoms.

The soothing qualities of the Calming Blends tea may also help those who are suffering from Diverticulosis*.

The Diverticulitis Tea contains no gluten.

The Diverticulitis Tea is caffeine free.  Our newest blend, the “Morning Comfort Tea” does contain caffeine.

Kept in its resealable pouch, the tea will remain fresh for at least two years from your date of purchase. Even after two years, dried tea leaves do not spoil, but they may lose some flavor and aroma.

Our tea is offered in loose-leaf form because we believe that true tea excellence is all about freshness, quality, and flavor. Unlike tea bags—which are often filled with remnants and powder—our loose-leaf tea is made exclusively from the finest ingredients with no fillers.

Brewing loose-leaf tea lets hot water fully extract the flavors from every leaf, creating a cup of tea that’s as fresh and rich as possible.

Did you know that most brands use mesh tea bags containing 20-30% plastic? Studies have found that a single standard tea bag can release up to 11.6 billion microplastics and 3.1 billion nanoplastics into your cup. This is just one more reason to choose Calming Blends’ loose-leaf tea.

Depending on the severity of your symptoms, you may have this tea up to two or three times per day.  Many of our customers drink this tea to relax and wind down, especially before bedtime.

First start with cold water. If your tap water does not taste good, use filtered or bottled water.

Place approximately 2 teaspoons of tea per every 6-8 ounces (1 cup) of water into a teapot or cup. Add hot water and let steep for 5-7 minutes. If you prefer your tea less strong, add more water after the brewing period.  Drink up to three times a day, or as needed.

How to brew the perfect cup of herbal tea for Diverticulitis

Note: After you brew the tea, it is best to remove the herbs/flowers with a fine strainer or use a tea ball. An alternative option is to use a cup with a tea infuser and remove the infuser containing the herbs and flowers after the tea has steeped.
